Open Way

We are a place of celebration, worship, healing, learning and accomplishment. Whether you are serious about learning and getting involved in the Red Path or simply want to experience Native American Ceremonies, we can provide you with an opportunity to see the world through the cosmovision of the Indigneous American traditions and religion.

The Open Way Healing Center is a not-for-profit organization created to help people of all races and nations peacefully co-exist by focusing on issues like fear, anger, guilt and shame.  These feelings are often at the root of individual, family, and social problems including: alcohol and other drug abuse, domestic and other violence, anxiety and depression, crime, and many others. Our goal is to provide and continuously develop effective services to address these community problems through a Native American spiritual perspective. One way we accomplish this goal is by providing a safe environment where people – particularly young people – and families can receive assistance and continuing support in developing and maintaining a healthy way of life in today's world. Another way is our desire to to open a Native American art museum to share with everyone the beauty of the world through their creations. With our meditations and prayers, communication with nature and her spirits, we attempt to bring into balance every person and the entire planet. When people learn to live with themselves and maintain healthy relationships, the whole community benefits – and together, we learn how to embrace the diversity of the Creator's world and live with each other in harmony and peace.

Here at the home of Mother Earth abounds the magic of times untold – a mystery that is unfathomable to the modern anylitical mind. It may seem to defy scientific process or scrutiny of any kind. It is an ancient connection with spirits far older than human language. The Singing Stone is dedicated to preserving some of the last connections to these spirit helpers of mankind on the Western Hemisphere. We are doing this by teaching ceremonial songs in the Lakota language, by preserving  indigenous American spiritual practices and by safeguarding the integrity of  these sacred rites.

The  Center Healing Open Way  is a holy place for the safekeeping of the ancient indigenous ways, for the eternal fire that roars within all of the peoples’ hearts – the flame that rekindles the spirit of this land, burning away the illusion of ourselves. Through his crackling voice, Grandfather Fire counsels us with his warmth, teaching respect through tradition and humility with power.

Ours is a home of the humble stone, the tipi of a singing rock, where Grandmother Earth, Unci Maka, sings the songs of wisdom almost lost. She tells us the stories from within ourselves, of the White Buffalo Calf Maiden and the secret that she carries in her sacred medicine bundle. She whispers the teachings of the Little People and other things unimaginable to the industrialized mind. She breathes into us the sacred breath of life, whistling through our hollow bones the gales of non-attachment,  the impeccable wind of our ancestors and the dawning knowledge of a bright new world.

Within this lodge of the sacred breath of life flows the mysterious feminine power of the universe herself. Her teaching flowers from the human soul, its wordless pages blossoming silent wisdom, slowly unfolding the petals of our heart. Her fragrance drifts from a circle without end, an eternal hoop of traditions that we nurture for all of our relations.

Aho Mitakuye Oyasin! All of us, we are related.
